What is the purpose of Pitru Paksha?

Pitru Paksha, often referred to as the fortnight of ancestors, is a significant period in the Hindu lunar calendar dedicated to honoring one's deceased ancestors. This sacred observance holds great importance in the lives of millions of Hindus worldwide, and it is believed that during this time, the souls of our forefathers revisit the earthly realm.
